Yeah yeah. Just the usual Hey Fox has updated post.

There's not a whole lot of funny to today's comic. I think the last two panels turned out rather well... I've never really tried to drawing intertwined paws before, which was predictably difficult... On the flip side I think the sense of eros came across better than I would have predicted.

And so is Hey Fox.

This particular comic took WAY too long. Not because of any particular complexity (though I really like Fox's pose in the first panel for some reason) but rather because of Alexandra. I realized, after drawing most of the comic, that I hadn't actually pinned down her character design yet... x.x

Anyway, she's a mink, and you can expect some shifting of her design as I get more comfortable with it, but hey if you're here it's not because you're addicted to consistency.

Next week's comic is already done. Yay!

I actually really like how this one turned out. Panel 3 was a lot of fun to draw too, and I think the real Secret liked the look too. :: grin ::

Warning, next weeks is going to be a little mopey, but it's supposed to be funny, so when in doubt, take the jest and laugh.

Hell, that's a good idea anywhere. When in doubt, just laugh at it all.

I thought I liked this one but now I look at it and can't help but think "wow... Fox's head is BIG... and that's not really too funny..." Well, maybe I've just been looking at it too much. It was funny in my head. :: shrug ::

As one might surmise by there being another post that starts with "hey all" there is indeed another Hey Fox comic posted!

So yeah, I was feeling kind of frustrated by everything being a sex joke, but as today's comic clearly indicates... I got over that and am just doing more sex jokes. >.>

I like how this one turned out for two reasons. First, the expression on Mykies face in panel 3, and second, there are a couple of different layers of joke. Suffice to say, I got lucky on this one. ^.^

Yup, new Hey Fox posted today!

No big April Fool's joke on the site today, but some of the girls played on on Fox. But considering last weeks comic, he probably deserved this.

So for those of you in the know, I've been emotionally a bit off lately. I'm glad to say that things have mostly gotten over the worst of it. I'm not all chipper cookies and cream, but at least I'm not down in the dumps anymore.

So I got ahead of what I figured. Actually made a new Hey Fox and posted it!

Today's comic is... Well I wasn't totally sure I was going to post it. I like the joke, but it's a bit crass (ok, very crass) and makes Fox out to be a total dick... Ah well, whatever it takes for the laughs right?

New Hey Fox posted today!

I totally didn't realize this was going to hit on st. patty's day or I would have... well probably done a drinking joke of some sort...

Anyway, today's comic came from a lot of things... none of them related to the content actually. Pretty much I'd done enough "sex" jokes that I felt like writing another would just be... well too much... Anyway, glad to see Joey return!

More on this later, I'm drinking right now getting in the Irish sprit.

Not that all Irish drink heavily... just the ones' I'm related to. ^.^

Totally forgot to post yesterday. Yup, you guessed it, Hey Fox updated again.

I actually really like how this one turned out. I think the posing worked better than normal. And Mai's pretty cute ne?

And for those of you keeping score, yes Monday's date went well. (Ok, not like the comic posted here but it was a FIRST date.) I'll post later about it in a bit more detail.

So let's turn the self-pitty mood about a bit. A new Hey Fox is up today!

Funny that my comic scheduling should invert my social these days. :: lol :: Anyway, today's comic is a mix of a number of events, not all with the same people involved... Still thought it was funny, I like how the expression turned out in the last panel, but the proportions across the board are screwy. Well call this a "getting back into the swing of things" comic I guess.

Ok ok... So there was more interest expressed than I would have expected so here's the night (and a week) after report.

With a bit of a preface, It's been a week and she hasn't gotten back to me, I'm taking the advice of some friends to not worry about it until 2 weeks have past so hopefully this will be the last you hear for a while. ^.^

So I met her on OKC, we traded messages for a couple of weeks before getting together for the date. As such I already had, I thought, a pretty good idea what to expect.

We met for mexican food at one of my favorite spots, but only after changing destinations because my very favorite apparently went out of business the day before. Anyway, we meet outside the restaurant, and the bad begins. The pictures she has up on OKC do not do her justice, she is significantly (IMHO) more cute than I had expected.

Cut to dinner, I've been looking forward to this date for a week, she's more than I expected, and I'm blabbering like a fool. Everything from random stories to apologies, and whatever happens to stumble through my brain, all with annotated explanations because for some reason I felt the need to turn everything into some sort of significant insight.

After dinner we retire to the Alley for a drink, and I'm doing a little better but still yammering. Wasn't until she made a joke about me being nervous, and I denied it thrice in a sentence, that I realized how nervous I was. Unfortunately by then it was getting late and we had to split.

We parted with a wave and a meh.

This is, of course, in brief.

Now some of you know, I can be a pretty funny guy at times, and I'm usually at least able to draw a smile or two, but I feel like I spent the whole nit stumbling over my own feet (metaphorically). So that's why I've been all bugged about this. I feel like I had a chance to meet somebody really awesome, and i blew it.

Hey all!

I know I kinda poofed there for a couple weeks. Well, if you're looking for it, there will be a new Hey Fox on Tuesday, it's done now. But that's not why I'm here.

So I've had a... mixed couple of weeks. The week before last was really stressful, I've moved to a new position at work, though I'm still covering my old job as well. Now I'm doing graphic layout, on top of that, so now I spend all day at work staring at the Adobe suite, which makes it a bit more difficult to come home and spend another three or five hours putting together a comic. >.> So there's that.

This last week, on the other hand, has been stressful for an entirely different reason. As some of you may know the job I have has odd and highly variable hours, so I'm technically "part time" which means I don't have any health insurance. I haven't for some years. I had what looked like a chip out of the enamel in a tooth, so I finally just buckled down and went to the dentist. Even if it's a cavity, I figured, it's worth a couple hundred dolars to get it fixed now. Well it was a cavity, but it was one of many, nearly a dozen. Over the next couple of months I'm going to be going in for almost $4,000 worth of dental work to get everything back up to spec.

This has killed a lot of my plans, both short and long term. (Not all of them, and some have just been postponed) but yeah, that made for a REAL happy fun-week. All the more so since I started so now I've had my mouth pried and prodded, drilled and filled and am not feeling my best.

To be one hundred percent truthful, I've also been stressing a lot more about this date I had on Monday than i should... but that's another matter and not one anybody out there cares about. ^.^

So more comics next week, and I'll try not to be bitchy again for a long time!

Yup, Hey Fox has updated again!

Keeping in the line of comics inspired by actual events, today's comic is as well. It's been mentioned before, but Secret can be... a lot of fun to eat with. :: grin ::

I realized, while I was coloring this one, that this is the first time I've drawn Secret since I moved to the all color comics. What do you think of the color scheme?

Last week, I was lazy. This week... well I'm looking at being a little stressed out so I'm going to try, but I don't know how much I'll be able to draw on my free time. Looks like much of my work is going to be spent in the Adobe suite, so it's not the kind of thing that will be too relaxing at home. ^.^

That being said, Hey Fox has updated!

This one is based on... well a number of real events, all sort of rolled together. It's a lot more wordy than my usual, how does it stand up?

Yup, almost like i meant to, Hey Fox updated again!

I think I went a bit overboard on the highlighting on this one. Than again, the background looks like crap, so who's really gonna notice?

I don't think I've ever ACTUALLY been in this particular situation... but that's not to say the potential has not been raised... Still, that doesn't mean I'm TOO nice. Just, a bit more than is wholly self beneficial right? Aw come on... right?

Hey!

So you guessed it, Hey Fox updated again today!

I like how this one turned out. Apparently blue sky and white snow is the best color background I've come across for my character coloring so far. :: lol :: Anyway, today's comic is... well not part two, but at the very least a counterpoint to the last one.

I put together a little movie, a time lapse of the creation of a comic. Anybody interested in seeing how I produce this crud?

Well damn.

I thought I had all these uploaded before I left, but apparently I did not....

So Hey Fox has updated of a sorts.

What was supposed to be the New Year post is up now. It will be there until Thursday the 6'th when the next regular comic goes up.

What was supposed to be the Christmas post just never made it I guess. There was a comic, but I'll save it for some other time. If you are still in the mood for some late season Christmas cheer, however, you can see the pinup portion of it over here on my FA.
